GRANT’S FUNDRAISING SECTION

This is a list of the items Grant Roden is offering for sale, as part of his fundraising efforts for the club during these unprecedented times.

FRIENDS OF GALASHIELS GOLF CLUB

Fellow Members, It has been three weeks since I sent out the message detailing my thoughts about selling golf items with a view to raising much needed funds for Galashiels Golf Club.

In the time since then we have been able to advertise and sell approximately 70 items ranging from Golf clubs, balls, bags and other golf gear to Bottles of Spirits, a kids bike and nine 4 Ball vouchers which we received from other Golf Clubs within the Borders and further afield to help us raise funds. To date we have raised in the region of £2700 which has been transferred to the club account.
A former member, Paul Peyton who now lives in America, who had seen the Club Facebook page also sent a £100 donation.

I would at this time like to thank you all for either donating and/or buying these items and also to several of our members families and friends who also contributed to this effort.

I still intend to carry on with this fund raising and to that end if any of you, family or friends have any items they would consider donating to the club please contact myself via information below.

With regards the balance of any of the items remaining, it is the intention to have them on display within the clubrooms as and when we are permitted to open. Also I have around twenty additional 4 Ball vouchers that are valid until the end of next season at the following courses:- Melrose, Torwoodlee, Peebles, Hawick, Aylth, Burntisland, Kingsknowe, Jedburgh, Duns, Duddingston, Hirsel and Hexham, plus a few still to come in. If any one or more of the above is of interest to you, again please contact me for details.

Lastly, I hope we may get some notification soon from the Scottish Government with an indication that we maybe permitted to resume playing golf again. I get reports that the course is lovely and deserves to have us playing on it rather than dog walkers and folks having picnics. I hope you are all safe and well and hope to see you all soon.

Many Thanks Grant
